Moving is easy with McCarthy & Stone

It is a highly personalised service that helps guide you and your family through the moving process. Your own Professional Advisor will co-ordinate a dedicated team of experts to deal with all aspects of your move.

If you have a property to sell your Professional Advisor will be happy to make all the arrangements for you, finding and appointing Estate Agents and arranging viewings. And we’ll even cover the cost of all estate agents fees† associated with selling your property providing you use one of our preferred estate agents.

We have a number of ‘approved’ solicitors for you to choose from, who can act on your sale and purchase for you and because they are already familiar with our procedures can often make the whole process much smoother. Alternatively, you may wish to use your own solicitor. As part of the Moving Experience we will cover the cost of your legal fees provided you use one of our ‘approved’ solicitors. We will also pay the Stamp Duty on your new apartment.

No need to lift a finger - we have a specialist removal service


We offer a free decluttering service that assists you in disposing of items such as unwanted furniture and household objects that you no longer need. Packing and unpacking your belongings can be stressful and exhausting, but with Moving Experience there’s no need for you to lift a finger. A specialist removal firm will pack your belongings and transport them to your new home where they will be unpacked – leaving you to sit back and relax.


If you need any odd jobs doing, such as putting up shelves, they can arrange for a handyman to visit your apartment. Even better, McCarthy & Stone will pay £50 towards the cost of the work.

As well as this you will also get a free and confidential financial health check, to help establish whether you are missing out on any financial entitlements available to older people.

Everyone's an individual and with this in mind we offer an interior design service via our furnishings supplier, to help you personalise your apartment, with options for carpets, curtains and furniture.

1. The cost of any work (labour and/or materials) as part of the Handyman service, in excess of £50 plus VAT is the responsibility of the resident.

2. The Moving Experience scheme is available on selected developments only.
